Hytale Update 6 is now live, making the early access build easier to mod, build in and play with friends. The first version of the in-game mod browser is the headline addition, but Hardcore and Spectator modes, expanded Creative tools and a useful collection of multiplayer changes make this broader than a new menu for downloading mods.
Instead of sending players off to launchers, folders and Discord links, the mod browser lets them discover, install and manage projects inside Hytale. Featured, popular and recently updated sections sit alongside search, categories, screenshots and supported version details, while the library keeps track of anything that needs updating or removing. Hytale has always put community creation near the centre of the game, and lowering the barrier between finding a mod and actually joining a world with it should help those projects reach more than the people already comfortable managing everything by hand.

Permadeath, Three Strikes, Nine Lives and Soulbound give groups several ways to build a harder world, ranging from individual consequences to shared runs where one bad fight can affect everyone. Spectator Mode means dying does not have to end the evening either, as players who are out can watch whoever is still alive or move around with a free camera without pulling enemies into the group.

Builders can use the new Color Tool to replace blocks without losing their shape variants, paint gradients and apply shading from light, surface angle or a custom palette, with Block Palette Presets saving combinations for later. Selections can now reach 16 million blocks too, backed by a smaller save format and faster copy, cut, paste and save operations, which gives serious projects far more room before the tools become the limit.

Creators can also build moving platforms, traps and other less static objects now that players can stand on and be pushed by rotated entities with hard collision. Gyro aiming has arrived for supported controllers, while STUN and TURN networking should help more friends connect without reaching for a separate VPN tool. Double NAT can still cause trouble, but the same-day hotfixes already make direct paths more likely and add a clearer network report when a connection does not behave.

Server owners and plugin maintainers need to pay attention to the protocol change from hytale/2 to hytale/3. Packet layouts changed during the pre-release cycle, so rebuild plugins where needed and check compatibility before moving a regular group over. The launch hotfixes also improve mod-browser world installs and fix a crash affecting older NVIDIA cards, making them part of the update rather than something to leave until later.
