What is SCUM?

SCUM is a brutally realistic open world survival game set on a hostile island; the environment is cruel, and the inhabitants even crueller. You play as a prisoner that has been forced to work off their debt to society by unwillingly participating in a televised spectacle ran by entertainment giant TEC01.

Every aspect of the game is done with realism in mind, from inventory management, weapon maintenance to stamina management and the most detailed metabolism system in any video game. You need to fight for your life against other inmates, both living and dead, to gain the support of viewers, producers and sponsors that are watching.

The island is the biggest map made in UE4 (Unreal Engine 4), with 225km², based on Croatian territory. From the stunning Adriatic coastline to the freezing cold mountains and lush forests, there is a vast landscape to explore and survive in. Throughout the land there are various populations including villages, towns, cities and even military bases.

The metabolism system in SCUM is complex and makes you think about everything you eat and drink; this ties nicely into an in depth health system with RPG like attributes and skills. As you explore and find loot, keep an eye out for the foods that best suit your play style.

There are lots of other parts to this game such as vehicles, an in depth cooking system, tools for every trade and every weapon maintenance. Every single time you play, there can be a completely unique character building experience.
