What is Sons Of The Forest?
Sons Of The Forest is a co-op survival horror game from Endnight, set on a remote island where the rescue job goes wrong almost immediately. The island looks calm for about five minutes, then the forest, caves, cannibal camps and mutants start making it clear that staying alive is going to take more than a few sharpened sticks.
The first few days are usually about the simple stuff. Find food, drink clean water, cut logs, make a fire, build somewhere to sleep and work out which parts of the island are safe enough to return to. From there, the game starts pulling the group further out, into caves, bunkers, key items, weapons and better tools.
Building is a proper part of the game rather than a little side system. A small shelter can turn into a defensive base, a treehouse, a compound by the water or a messy pile of half-finished ideas that somehow works. Seasons change the pressure too, so winter can make food and planning matter more than it did at the start.
The horror side works better when the world has history. A base with repaired walls, storage rooms, traps, paths, caves already explored and supplies hidden away feels different from a fresh save. That is where a hosted server starts to make sense.
