Conan Exiles Enhanced is now live on PC Steam, and this is a bigger change than the name might suggest. The game has moved to Unreal Engine 5, which brings a proper visual and technical overhaul rather than just another content patch.
The upgraded version improves foliage, water, lighting, ground textures, armour detail, and building pieces, and it now uses Lumen Global Illumination, Nanite Geometry, and Virtual Shadow Maps. In practice, that means the world looks a lot more readable and a lot more dramatic, especially around big cities, player compounds, and dungeon interiors.
The most important gameplay change for multiplayer groups is merged world support. The Exiled Lands and Isle of Siptah can now exist on the same server, and if you own the Siptah expansion you can move between both maps with the same character. That is a meaningful change for communities because it cuts out the old split between separate map characters and separate world progress.
Enhanced also adds several quality-of-life changes that matter more than they sound on paper: crafting and building now pull materials from nearby storage and follower inventories, the user interface has been revamped, and the game now has day-one modding support for the new version with a refreshed Mod Dev Kit.
Enhanced also supports transferring existing Exiled Lands progress, along with a reduced client size compared with the old PC install. So if you already had a world worth keeping, this is not designed as a wipe-and-start-over moment by default. It is meant to bring your progress into the upgraded version and let you keep going in a better-looking game.
