In the newest Minecraft update (dropping on 30th September 2025), Copper is finally getting the love it deserves. Many players have desired more with the material added many updates ago. We're finally being rewarded with a plethora of new blocks, tools, and features all centred around Copper.
One of the first new, and most notable, additions is the new mob, the Copper Golem. By placing any carved pumpkin block on top of a copper block, it will spawn the new Copper Golem with a Copper Chest beneath him. Their most notable use is to sort items into nearby chests: place the items you wish to be sorted into the Copper Chest, and the golems will sort the items automatically to nearby, regular chests. This new feature allows for more compact, simple, and flexible sorting systems than ever before!
With the newest update, they've also added some new copper-themed versions of existing blocks, like the Copper Chain, Copper Bars, and Copper Torches to name a few. These are sure to add some spice to your builds and make your steampunk-themed builds pop out even more!
While we're nearing the end of the front-facing additions, the last one is definitely not the least. Mojang has finally added a long-requested feature: Shelves! Now you can display your items with style as the shelves are for every kind of wood, giving you an entire array of options!
In the backend, Mojang is making big efforts towards making server owners' lives significantly easier. With the addition of the Mannequin NPC, the /fetchprofile command, and making server properties flag gamerules instead, managing servers both big and small will be significantly easier and require fewer plugins!
