Minecraft Mounts of Mayhem - What to expect

Posted on 26th Oct 2025

The upcoming Minecraft Mounts of Mayhem content drop will feature many new things, all of which are exciting for the game! Let’s dive in and see what new things Mojang has in store for us. The update features two new mounts for the players to tame and one old mount given the ability to spawn in Survival Mode, along with a new weapon designed around being used on mounts.

The first and likely largest addition, the spear!! This weapon is like your standard tool, having versions from Wood to Netherite. They will obviously affect the stats, but the biggest feature of the spear is the unique gimmick to it. Depending on how fast you’re going, the spear will deal more damage! This isn’t limited to just mounts though, this can be achieved through any means of gaining high speed, whether it be through Elytra or boats on ice.

As for the mounts being added, old Minecraft players will be happy to hear that the Zombie Horse is being given the ability to show up in Survival Mode! Spawning in plains and savannah biomes, these guys will likely be similar to skeleton ambushes in their spawning. The horses themselves will be passive despite that fact.

As for the new mount being added, it looks like those shells weren’t without their owners, the Nautilus! This creature is perfect for players who wish to live or traverse underwater, giving a unique buff that stops you from drowning altogether! They’re a completely aquatic mob, though, so don’t try going for any walks. These guys come with their own unique sets of armour as well, from Copper to Netherite!

They’re not all good, however, as there is a new variant of this mob being added for Drowned. The Zombie Nautilus is a new neutral variant of the mob, its riders being their undead companions in the water.
