Factorio: Space Age Server Hosting

Factorio: Space Age is what happens after the old rocket launch. Space is no longer the end of the save. It becomes the next part of the factory, with platforms to build, cargo to move and new planets pulling the whole production chain in different directions.

You still start with the familiar Factorio rhythm on Nauvis. Mine a few resources, get furnaces running, place belts badly, fix them, then fix them again once science and power start needing more room. Space Age keeps that core loop, but gives it somewhere much bigger to go.

Space platforms feel like little factories of their own. They need fuel, power, ammunition and enough thought put into them before they start flying between planets. Asteroids are useful when you are ready for them, and a problem when you are not.

The planets are the fun bit, because each one breaks a different habit. Vulcanus brings lava, tungsten, foundries and big mining drills. Fulgora is all scrap, lightning and recycling old ruins into something useful. Gleba is farming, spoilage and organic production, while Aquilo makes heat, ice platforms and cryogenic tech part of the puzzle.

It also landed with Factorio 2.0, so the base game got a proper lift at the same time. Elevated rails are the one a lot of players were waiting for, because cleaner train networks over water and awkward junctions make a massive difference once the factory gets silly. Quality tiers, optimisation work and smaller quality-of-life changes help with that too.

On a shared Factorio: Space Age server, the save can keep moving without one person having to host it from home. Someone can be fixing Nauvis, someone else can be building a platform, another can be dealing with Gleba being Gleba, and everyone joins back into the same factory with panel controls, file access, backups, mods, custom maps and scenarios available when needed.
