What is V Rising?
V Rising Update 1.1: Invaders of Oakveil is available now, with new content for vampires returning to Vardoran.
V Rising is a gothic survival action RPG where the usual survival start is flipped around a bit. You are not a hungry human trying to avoid monsters. You are the monster, waking up weak, hiding from the sun and hunting for blood so you can start building your power back up.
The castle is the bit that makes the world feel like yours. Pick a place, build around the Castle Heart, set up crafting rooms, decorate the place properly and turn captured humans into servants. It starts as somewhere to hide during daylight and slowly becomes the centre of everything your clan is doing.
Progression comes from going out into Vardoran and taking power from stronger enemies. V Blood bosses unlock new abilities, recipes, stations and ways to push further through the map, while blood quality, weapons and spells let players build around different styles instead of everyone doing the same thing.
Servers can be shaped around the group too. Some players want a private PvE world where the clan builds together, others want PvP, raids, castle pressure and proper vampire politics. Settings, wipes, clan size, damage rules and resource rates all change how harsh the world feels.
The later updates add more for returning players as well, including the Ruins of Mortium, Dracula, stronger endgame enemies and newer content around Oakveil. A hosted V Rising server keeps that world online between sessions, with panel controls, full file access, backups and configuration tools so the clan is not relying on one home PC.
